Can i use the New Living Translation for a catholic?

Im catholic and i am starting to read the bible. I have one called The Book, a href="http://www.amazon.com/Book-NLT-Tyndale/dp/0842332847/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1237703216&sr=8-1" rel="nofollow"http://www.amazon.com/Book-NLT-Tyndale/d…/a , and I think it is a New Living Translation. Is this for christians or can it be used for catholics too?
