Do I need to keep my pc on to use router ?

u can just turn ur router always on, but before that u need to config the router through ur computer. After it is configured u can connect it to switch or hub. From the switch / hub u can connect it to a wi-fi device and ethernet cable that connects to ur computer. If u use ipod touch, u can directly connected to the internet through the wi-fi device
