Aquarium bamboo question?

have seen a lot of videos of vertical bamboo in aquarium setups and love the look. how do you secure the bamboo shaft in a vertical position so water movement wont knock them over? walmart has bamboo cheap but how do ya keep it in a vertical position? not using a undergravel filter. gravel alone wont stabilize the shoot. any ideas is appreciated.
