Is there any way to reduce smoke output in a single stage 2 cycle snow blower?

There are some two-cycle oils that claim to be "low smoke", such as the one made by Husqvarna. Also, excessive smoking can be caused by the air/fuel mixture being too rich. If you check your manual, or possibly the manufacturers website, you should be able to find the correct procedure for adjusting the mixture. Other than that, it may just be the age of the engine, it which case you'll have to live with it or get a new machine. Of course, all two-cycles will smoke to some degree. it's just part of the design. Good luck.
